SAT, MAR 16 2024-theGBJournal| MainOne, an Equinix Company, has declared a force majeure following disruption to its services arising from the massive cut on its submarine cable system.

The submarine cable company said the circumstances is beyond its control in the course of business hence the declaration of the force majeure.

The company said further investigations have revealed that the fault occurred due to an external incident that resulted in a cut on its submarine cable system, in the Atlantic Ocean between Senegal and Cote D’ Ivoire, offshore the coast of West Africa.

”We recognize the impact of the outage on our customers and we are working tirelessly to make available restoration capacity for temporary relief, subject to availability and normal course of business,” MainOne said in a statement Friday.

It said actions have been taken to mobilize a vessel to expeditiously repair the cable in the deep ocean, and promised to provide regular updates on the progress of the repair works.

”We assure our customers that all efforts are being made to fully restore services, repair the submarine cable and deliver MainOne quality that you have come to rely on,” the company said.
