SAT, MAR 30 2024-theGBJournal| The Lagos Commissioner of Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi confirmed today that the Third Mainland Bridge which has been closed to traffic in the past seven weeks, will resume full operations on April 4th, 2024, following extensive repairs.

The 11.8 kilometer dual lanes bridge repairs was carried out by Chinese construction firm, CCEC, and its contract was initially awarded at the cost of N21 billion.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi while inspecting ongoing Federal Government projects in Lagos State said that 30 percent of the cost of the project has been fully paid.

He also revealed that some additional costs arising from asphalt which at N22,000 per square meter, solar light, and CCTV installation, among others, will be paid by the Federal Government as it is contractually obtainable.
