WED, JAN 03 2024-theGBJournal|Prolific midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled of Nigeria’s campaign for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2023.

The 27-year old Nigeria and Leicester midfield is ruled out because of injury and has been replaced by Alhassan Yusuf, midfielder who plays for Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

Nigeria plays it’s opening game at the Cup of Nations against Equatorial Guinea on 14 January and will also face hosts Cote d’ Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau in the group stage.

The squad commences it’s training today in Abu Dhabi. 17 players are in camp already out of the 25 players invited by Head Coach Jose Peseiro.
